Partials
If you have a missing tooth or a gap between your teeth not only does it affect your appearance, it can cause a lot of other dental problems. Often times your teeth will shift to fill in the empty space causing your bite to change and this can lead to painful TMJ issues and even gum disease! A partial denture is sometimes a great option.
A partial denture consists of replacement teeth attached to a pink or gum-colored acrylic base, which is connected by a framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw. Many times a partial denture is the most affordable option to replace missing teeth.
Why replace missing teeth?
- Make it easier to speak and chew
- Maintain the shape of your face
- Decrease the risk of gum disease
- Prevent teeth from shifting in your mouth which will change your bite
